What is the ruling on one who died while ignorant of tawhid (the oneness of Allah), given that the call to Islam did not reach him?

The questioner : Praise be to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions, and those who follow them. O Shaykh, what is the ruling on a Muslim who dies while ignorant of tawhid (the oneness of Allah), where the call did not reach him, either due to his ignorance as he is illiterate and cannot read or write, or because some ignorant scholars took charge of spreading the call among the people? I give as an example: the Sufis. Some people become Sufis and believe that Sufism is worship.
If your Excellency spoke about the issue of the call and spreading Islam in one of your answers, and gave the example of the Qadianis, and the true call to spread tawhid (the oneness of Allah) did not reach them, then they are, if Allah wills, treated specially. What is your Excellency’s opinion?

The Shaykh : Know and adhere to this; this is the answer. That is, this type of Muslim is treated—according to our knowledge—by the Lord of the Worlds in the religion of Islam as one to whom the call did not reach.

The questioner : What is the answer to this?

The Shaykh : The answer is according to what came in the question. You described the situation in which this person lived, meaning the society in which that person who died without understanding tawhid (the oneness of Allah) lived. It is predominant in that society, or it is a representative image of that society which did not understand tawhid. If the sheikhs or scholars in such a society, who are supposed to be guides and guided, are themselves misguided and deviant, then what is the state of the others? As it was said:
"If the master of the house is beating the drum, then the residents have no choice but to dance."
