A dialogue regarding the fabrications spread about Shaykh Al-Albani (may Allah have mercy on him) in some Emirati newspapers, and the Shaykh’s response to them.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Brothers in faith:
This is an interview with a representative of the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper regarding the fabrications spread aboutThe Shaykh : Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani in some newspapers of the United Arab Emirates, in the words of the Minister of Awqaf, al-Khazraji.
The presenter: And they spread about... no, from you... he was upset and said to me, what are the Muslims and the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper mentioning things that are not correct... I said, by Allah, I... I hope to seeThe Shaykh : and meet withThe Shaykh : and show him, I mean... .

The Shaykh: Yes, and peace be upon you and Allah’s mercy and blessings.

The questioner : ... . .

The Shaykh: We praise Allah and give thanks to Him.

The questioner : ... . .

The Shaykh: In the matter of what?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh: By Allah, I do not recall it right now, yes, yes, I mean, they do not sit between them.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh: No, my dear, no, they do not distinguish between them in worldly matters, yes, welcome, may Allah preserve you, and peace be upon you and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
The representative: He left this specific news, he told him that it is the message news, that it isThe Shaykh : Abu Shuqra, and he is influenced by it, and a second message, also people gave him... , I mean... , from the reality of this news, we want to reach a clear picture that we can present to the Muslim in the Arab world and everywhere... we do not want anything but good. What do we say as a beginning, what is your comment on all this talk.

The Shaykh: I say, our comment on this talk is that the publisher of this word or its writer, and in my opinion, it cannot be Minister al-Khazraji himself, because I imagine that one in his position would be scrupulous about writing what he has no knowledge of, and not only fabricating lies against his state, not against me personally, but against his state, where he says

The questioner: that previously, and four years ago..

The Shaykh: Yes, what does he say here: "And it is mentioned that this group first appeared four years ago and reappeared in the Emirates during Ramadan, and it is led by a person called Nasir al-Din al-Albani, who was unable to spread and promote his ideas despite his attempts in several Islamic countries, as he was expelled from the Emirates four years ago." So what does a person say if we prove that we entered the Emirates officially with a visa one year ago?
How dare they commit such a fabrication? And I had presented or suggested to Professor Abu Malik before he met you, it seems, that he photograph this, photograph this visa, what is its date?
The representative: Three thousand nine hundred and eighty-five, meaning one year ago!

The Shaykh: One year ago! So what does a person say about such a fabrication? But that is greater, without a doubt, but this brands them in the core, but more important to us are the accusations that came in this article, for example:
Their saying, "That this group denies the four Islamic schools of jurisprudence," and we have many works that refute this fabrication most strongly; because we expand greatly in Islamic jurisprudence to the point that we state and say: that Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He)... .
So we believe in the Islamic schools of jurisprudence, and not only the four schools, but we believe that Islam is greater than to be confined to four schools, so if we want to understand Islam, we derive our jurisprudence from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as the primary source, then we assist ourselves with that not only with the four schools, but also with the other schools recorded in manuscript books of jurisprudence, such as the school of al-Awza'i (for example), and Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak, and Abdullah ibn al-Mahdi, and Sufyan al-Thawri, and many others, and very many, so this is an accusation.
And the greater accusation is the saying of this writer: "And they doubt the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
This is in fact a wound that has no cure, we [serve] the Sunnah for nearly half a century, and we have works known to scholars and students of knowledge, and we do not need to list anything of that, but the people of knowledge know this fabrication, we are sometimes called the people of hadith, sometimes the supporters of the Sunnah, sometimes the Salafis, because we affiliate with the righteous Salaf, as a scientific methodology for understanding the Book and the Sunnah, and therefore the saying of this speaker: "And they doubt the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)," perhaps it is best to say: She threw me with her disease and I escaped, "by denying the authentic hadiths relied upon":
First: This expression is not a precise scientific expression; because the hadiths of the Sahihs are not the authentic hadiths, the Sahihs are books, the most famous and most authentic of which are Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, then comes after them in a rank lower than the previous ones, such as Sahih Ibn Hibban and Ibn Khuzaymah and al-Mustadrak of al-Hakim and the like.
So their saying: "That they deny the authentic hadiths of the relied-upon Sahihs," this is scientifically criticized, both in terms of expression and in terms of meaning; because the hadiths of the Sahihs other than al-Bukhari and Muslim are criticized by many of the people of knowledge, the clearest example of that is al-Mustadrak 'ala al-Sahihayn by Abu Abdullah al-Hakim al-Naysaburi, so the Imam al-Hafiz al-Dhahabi al-Dimashqi wrote a book on it called Takhrij al-Mustadrak, and he criticized it in many of the hadiths, so we do not criticize the authentic hadiths, but we criticize some books that deviated from precise scientific classification, following many of the Imams of hadith, such as Imam al-Dhahabi (whom we mentioned earlier) and his like, such as Imam al-Zayla'i and Imam al-'Asqalani, and many like them.
And also his saying now, in addition to what preceded, and the doubt in the authenticity of some other Prophetic hadiths, this doubt is only for the ignorant people who have no knowledge of the authentic, weak, and fabricated hadiths, one of them has in his mind hadiths he received from some people, and perhaps heard them from his father or his grandfather or the like of those who have no knowledge of the authentic and the weak, so one of us comes and weakens a hadith from these hadiths and says: He weakened the authentic hadiths, and they are not authentic, and on this occasion, we have published books, and praise be to Allah, and the people of knowledge circulate them, in addition to the students of knowledge, among them are two series, one of which is: The Series of Authentic Hadiths and Some of Its Jurisprudence and Benefits, four volumes have been printed so far, circulating in the Islamic world, and much of it has been reprinted repeatedly, and the other series is The Series of Weak and Fabricated Hadiths and Their Bad Effect on the Ummah, so there is no harm in that I give you a famous example:
In many mosques here and there, the viewer sees on the door of the mosque’s mihrab, the mosque’s pulpit, a hadith, he said (peace and blessings be upon him):
When the preacher ascends the pulpit, there is no prayer and no speech. When the preacher ascends the pulpit, there is no prayer and no speech. إذا صعِد الخطيبُ المِنْبَر فلا صلاةَ ولا كلام، إذا صَعِد الخطيبُ المنبر فلا صلاةَ ولا كلامَ
...Yes. And peace be upon you and Allah’s mercy and blessings... ; it has no basis, and it is famous among the people, so when some students of knowledge come and hear this hadith and say: This hadith has no basis, the ignorant person comes and says: They deny the authentic hadiths! and so on, there I pointed out in a note, we do not have time to point out, but it is based on ignorance and accusation, and as it was said: How can the shadow be straight when the stick is crooked!
As for his saying: "That it is a disease that must be eradicated"; this is in fact based on what is established in their minds that every hadith they hear is an authentic hadith, while the entire Islamic Ummah, its Salaf and Khalaf, agreed that the Sunnah has entered into it what is not from it, and therefore books were written to distinguish and clarify the authentic hadith from the weak, among the most famous of these books, for example, al-Maqasid al-Hasanah fi al-Ahadith al-Mashhurah 'ala al-Alsan by al-Hafiz al-Sakhawi, who is one of the students of al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani, and in any case, whoever is ignorant of something hates it.
As for his statement: "It is mentioned that this group first appeared four years ago and reappeared in the UAE during Ramadan, led by a man named Nasir al-Din al-Albani"; this is also a lie and a fabrication, for I do not lead a group. Rather, I call, as do other people of knowledge, to following the Book and the Sunnah upon the methodology of the righteous Salaf, whom we were commanded to follow in many authentic Prophetic hadiths, such as his statement (peace be upon him) in a well-known hadith where he said:
and my nation will split into seventy-two, all of which will be in Hell apart from one وستفترق أمتي على ثلاث وسبعين فرقة كلها في النّار إلا واحدة
Sunan Ibn Majah 3993Sahih (Darussalam)
They said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allah? He said:
It is the Jama'ah. هي الجماعة
And in another narration:
What I am upon and my Companions. هي ما أنا عليه وأصحابي
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2641Da'if (Darussalam)
Therefore, we were commanded to follow the first Salaf, who are the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), because they had the deepest understanding of Islam and were the most eager to apply it as they received it fresh from the mouth of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). So we do not lead a group in any way; rather, I am a student of knowledge bent over research and verification, and the people of knowledge are those who know the truth of what I say. We ask Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to rectify the condition of the Muslims, to improve their morals, and to guide them to follow the Book, the Sunnah, and what the righteous Salaf were upon (may Allah be pleased with them all).

The questioner : May Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : And you, if Allah wills.

The questioner : The truth is, the truth is that I have clarified this point with sufficient and clear words, if Allah wills, but we need some clarifications.

The Shaykh : Please go ahead.

The questioner : Regarding your trips to Abu Dhabi and what led to such statements, so that we may be clear.

The Shaykh : There is a mosque in Dubai called Khalil al-Rahman Mosque, where I gave lessons. That was the purpose. And so I was in Syria calling to follow the Book and the Sunnah, and nothing else.

The questioner : I mean, you have visited the UAE, it seems, more than once. The last time...

The Shaykh : After the last time, I think I visited twice, and I visited Qatar and I visited Kuwait, and so on.

The questioner : And you gave lessons there.

The Shaykh : I gave lessons at Khalil al-Rahman Mosque.

The questioner : Okay, can we conclude, let's say, what is the... motive for publishing such statements in a newspaper or magazine? It seems to be a magazine publishing such statements in a newspaper or magazine.

The Shaykh : By Allah, this varies depending on the people. In my opinion, it is either misunderstanding or ill intent, and sometimes both are combined.

The questioner : Have you visited Saudi Arabia before?

The Shaykh : Repeatedly.

The questioner : Repeatedly, and who did you meet there?

The Shaykh : We met withThe Shaykh : Ibn Baz and the imams of the Haram, andThe Shaykh : Hammad al-Ansari, the hadith teacher at the Islamic University, the dean of the university, and distinguished imams whom we know.

The questioner : And 'Umar Faltata?

The Shaykh : Very many...

The questioner : In the field of knowledge, what are the points of disagreement between you and points of agreement between you and, for example, Ibn Baz?

The Shaykh : There is no room for points of disagreement, for we and they are on the same line, and praise be to Allah. And perhaps it is good, since you asked this question, that I show you something.

The questioner : Yes, this is from, in the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy. This is fromThe Shaykh : Ibn Baz.

The Shaykh : Look, this first points to the lie of those reports. Read.

The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy. I have read your valuable response titled "Al-Dhab al-Ahmad fi Masnad al-Imam Ahmad" (The Ahmadi Defense of Imam Ahmad's Musnad) and the response to those who criticized its correct attribution to him, and claimed that al-Qutay'i added many fabricated hadiths to it until it became weak.

The Shaykh : Until it became weak. Upon verification, it was found that there are no additions by al-Qutay'i in it. "Al-Dhab al-Ahmad fi Masnad al-Imam Ahmad" and the response to those who criticized its correct attribution to him, and claimed that al-Qutay'i added many fabricated hadiths to it until it became twice as weak, and upon verification, it was found that there are no additions by al-Qutay'i in it.

The questioner : Yes, this seems to be an introduction to a book that was published or not?

The Shaykh : No, it has not been published.

The questioner : It has not been published yet!

The Shaykh : This was a response to an article published in some Indian or Pakistani magazines, in which the criticism was translated, and this is a response to it, at the request and desire ofThe Shaykh : Ibn Baz.

The questioner : And it seems that you sent this to him, i.e., Ibn Baz?

The Shaykh : Yes, and he wrote the response.

The questioner : It is clear from the envelope, it seems he sent it and...

The Shaykh : This will be the answer to your previous question.

The questioner : Yes, "Al-Dhab al-Ahmad fi Masnad al-Imam Ahmad" and the response to those who criticized its correct attribution to him, and claimed that al-Qutay'i added many fabricated hadiths to it until it became weak.

The Shaykh : Twice as weak.

The questioner : Twice as weak. I have "weak" in my copy.

The Shaykh : It is a typographical error.

The questioner : Twice as weak, and upon verification, it was found that there are no additions by al-Qutay'i in it. I was pleased with the criticism and verification it contained, and the refutation of the objector's doubt and the clarification of the truth with its evidence. So may Allah reward you with good and increase you in knowledge and guidance, and may He support the truth through you and expand your life in good deeds. It has been delayed for a long time due to my many engagements and the forgetfulness that befalls me in completing the reading.
So I ask for your forgiveness, and it is attached to you. I ask the Lord (Mighty and Majestic) to make us and you among the guided and those who follow guidance, and to protect us and you and all our brothers from the misleading trials. Indeed, He is All-Hearing, Near. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
The General President isThe Shaykh : Ibn Baz, and this is his complete seal. This is dated 05/10/1406, in "Al-Dhab al-Ahmad." Yes, my lord, this is undoubtedly clear, and it would be good if we could obtain a copy of it.

The Shaykh : I do not know ifThe Shaykh : he allows that!

The questioner : Yes, in any case, this is the reality. We take it as a basis or as evidence that there is a letter dated 05/10/1406. It is about the book "Al-Dhab al-Ahmad"... and the verification of al-Qutay'i's additions in it. This indicates that it is a verification byThe Shaykh : that is correct, and something to be praised for his verification in the book "Al-Dhab al-Ahmad."

The Shaykh : "Al-Dhab al-Ahmad fi Masnad al-Imam Ahmad."

The questioner : Yes, "Al-Dhab" and... like this... okay, meaning here it is clear that there is no disagreement, for example, in the essence and the original matters of creed.

The Shaykh : We taught at the Islamic University for three years in the Holy City of Madinah when the President wasThe Shaykh : Ibn Baz, so we lived with him for three years.

The questioner : Do you knowThe Shaykh : Muhammad Nasir al-'Abudi?

The Shaykh : I know him. Is he in Riyadh now?

The questioner : No, he is not, [...].

The Shaykh : Where?

The questioner : At the Rabita.

The Shaykh : The Rabita. I know him. In Riyadh, he was first at the university, then he was transferred to Riyadh.

The questioner : Okay, so with this situation clarified, we return and say that the statements that were published, it seems, are statements that need correction and need defense and response, and we will work on that, if Allah wills. But so we start from this premise, this is a point, if Allah wills. We start and say, okay, you,The Shaykh : Nasir, what is your position on ijtihad and the people of knowledge in the present time and their duty toward the Book and the Sunnah?

The Shaykh : I answered you just now. We have accused us of denying the four schools of jurisprudence. We believe in more schools than they establish.

The questioner : There is no doubt in that. This is a settled matter for us. What is your position... on the issue of ijtihad and its emergence in the current time, and what is the duty of scholars of religion and jurisprudence to exert ijtihad and work in this time to highlight the Book and the Sunnah and take the correct path in this time?

The Shaykh : We have an introduction to the description of the Prophet's prayer. We have a book titled "The Description of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) Prayer." Do you like to hear what I said twenty years or more ago?

The questioner : ... ..

The Shaykh : Yes. So whoever wants detail, we refer them to this introduction, which is about fifty pages. We said just now that we call to follow the Book and the Sunnah upon the methodology of the righteous Salaf. This means that we fight against stagnation... and that we call Muslims to free themselves from the intellectual stagnation that has settled on their hearts for about ten centuries and more. And nothing will free them from it except that they return to the Book and the Sunnah, and that they apply even one verse, which is His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He):
And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
[An-Nisa 4:59]

On the other hand, we believe that the door of ijtihad is wide open, and that it is a mercy from Allah (Mighty and Majestic) upon His servants that He did not close the door of ijtihad upon them. For ijtihad is a mercy from Allah, and it is unthinkable that the door of His mercy would be closed upon His servants, especially since the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) gave glad tidings to his Ummah with his saying:
A group of people from my Umma will always remain triumphant on the right path and continue to be triumphant (against their opponents). He who deserts them shall not be able to do them any harm. They will remain in this position until Allah's Command is executed لا تزال طائفة من أمتي ظاهرين على الحق لا يضرهم من خالفهم حتى يأتي أمر الله
Sahih Muslim 1920
We believe, on the other hand, that the door of ijtihad being open.

The questioner : Does it include necessities?

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : Is this the completion of the hadith?

The Shaykh :
they will not be harmed by any one going on a different path till Allah's order (Day of Judgment) is established لا يضرهم من خالفهم حتى تقوم الساعة
Sahih al-Bukhari 71
.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Of course, yes.

The questioner : Because there is a second hadith similar to it, of course, it is necessary...
They said: Where are they, O Messenger of Allah? He said: They are in Bayt al-Maqdis and the surroundings of Bayt al-Maqdis. قالوا أين هم يا رسول الله ؟ قال : هم في بيت المقدس وأكناف البيت المقدس

The Shaykh : Ah, now the appropriate example has come. I am telling you that this is a weak hadith, and whoever sees the lesson in something else, let him take the lesson from that.

The questioner : There is no obstacle, is it not the same hadith?

The Shaykh : It is a narration in the hadith, and it is a weak hadith in the chain due to this addition, but we have in Sahih al-Bukhari, from the hadith of Mu'awiyah, when he narrated the hadith I mentioned earlier:
A group of people from my Umma لا تزال طائفة من أمتي
Sahih Muslim 1923
He said: And this is Mu'adh saying, "They are in Sham."

The questioner : If you could repeat it, if you allow me.

The Shaykh : Mu'awiyah, when he narrated the hadith from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), said: And this is Mu'adh saying—meaning Mu'adh—"They are in Sham."

The questioner : And what did Mu'adh say...?

The Shaykh : He approved it, he approved it.

The questioner : He approved it.

The Shaykh : Ah, it is known.

The questioner : So, in this sense, it is called an aside. Does that have a meaning of validity, meaning?

The Shaykh : Of course, but I am not saying... Look at the difference now regarding the science of hadith. If a hadith comes whose meaning is correct, but its wording has not been established for us that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke it, it is not permissible for us, religiously and scientifically in hadith, to say, "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said." If we narrate it, we must clarify its weakness. Then, if its meaning is correct, we say, "Its meaning is correct, and such-and-such testifies to it." And if its meaning is not correct, we say, "Its chain is weak and its meaning is denounced." So, the hadith you mentioned is weak in terms of narration and chain, and it is not valid. But we have brought you the corroborating evidence from Sahih al-Bukhari when Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that valid hadith agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim, saying: And this is Mu'adh saying: "They are in Sham."

The questioner : Yes, let us return...

The Shaykh : The point, let us return. So, even though the door of ijtihad is open, here are two opposing, contradictory positions.
The first position: That many people engage in ijtihad when the means of ijtihad are not available to them.
First of all: Memorizing the Qur'an. Second: The hadiths, knowing the hadiths reported from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). And following that, one must distinguish the authentic from the weak. Many scholars in every era, not just in this era, cite hadiths in their books that are not valid according to the scholars of hadith. It is well known that every science has its people, its specialists. And in every science, one must refer to the specialists. So, for the one who wants to engage in ijtihad, in addition to referring to the Book and the Sunnah, he must distinguish the authentic Sunnah and build upon it, and not rely on the weak Sunnah.
The position that opposes this is that many people, when they are contradicted in their opinion, or when the people of ijtihad are contradicted, they become angry with those who contradict them. And this is a loathsome fanaticism that is not permissible. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the hadith narrated by al-Bukhari in his Sahih:
When a judge gives a decision having tried his best to decide correctly and is right, he will have a double reward; and when he gives a decision having tried his best to decide correctly and is wrong, he will have a single reward. إذا حكم الحاكم فاجتهد فأصاب فله أجران، وإن أخطأ فله أجر واحد
Mishkat al-Masabih 3732
Therefore, if we find a true scholar, whether from the predecessors or the successors, who erred in a ruling, we do not hold him accountable because he is rewarded by the testimony of the previous hadith. But that does not prevent us from saying, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He erred." Because there is correctness and there is error. So, if it becomes apparent to us that so-and-so, from the predecessors or successors as we said, erred in an opinion, in a matter, that does not prevent us from saying: So-and-so erred. But the word "erred" means he is rewarded one reward. And it came in the hadith—also in Sahih al-Bukhari—that Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to allow him to interpret a vision that was related to him in the presence of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), so he allowed him. Then he asked him: "Did I hit the mark, O Messenger of Allah?" He said:
You are partly right and partly wrong أصبت بعضاً وأخطأت بعضاً
Sunan Abi Dawud 3268Sahih (Al-Albani)
So, we do not hesitate to say: So-and-so erred, because this word is not a disparagement, and it contains no hint or attack. When we understand that the one who issued a fatwa as a mujtahid is rewarded, there is no hint or mockery in that. And the reality is, and we know that many people do not know this fact, and it is great for them to be told: So-and-so erred. And the best of people, the best of the Companions, was corrected as you heard earlier. This is our position regarding ijtihad and the people of ijtihad. We approve of ijtihad and the people of ijtihad, and we do not become angry with the one who erred, but that does not prevent us from clarifying the error with evidence from the Book and the Sunnah.

The questioner : The reality, as you have established, is that [... ] a group, that you are not a group as you said, let alone that you are merely a group...

The Shaykh : It is possible for the entire Muslim community. We do not lead them, and we call them all to a common word, that they return to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah. And our methodology in that is a word that is written in gold—in my opinion—it was reported from Imam Malik, the Imam of the City of Migration: "He who innovates in Islam an innovation that he sees as good has claimed that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) betrayed the message. Read the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
He said: So, whatever was not a religion at that time will not be a religion today. And the end of this Ummah will not be set right except by what set right its beginning." This is from one aspect.

The questioner : The truth is, it would please me to benefit more and more, but we are, with your permission, as an introduction to what we will say, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : Fine.

The questioner : Yes, ah, we want to review a word for a lifeThe Shaykh : of Al-Albani from its beginning until this time, even if it is a light review by way of introduction.

The Shaykh : Allow me, because we have spoken about this a lot, and there are published pages in newspapers about it.

The questioner : But you started in what we are saying. How long have you been in Jordan?

The Shaykh : Five years.

The questioner : Five years, so what, meaning, what is your activity or most of your activity?

The Shaykh : Authorship.

The questioner : Authorship. Approximately, if you mentioned to us some of the works you have written... some of them for benefit.

The Shaykh : The works amount to about one hundred and fifty books, and here we have about fifty or more. I have a book, for example: "Irwaa al-Ghalaal fi Takhrij Ahadith Manaa al-Sabeel" in eight volumes, and I have a book "Tahqiq wa Takhrij Mishkaat al-Masabih" in three large volumes. I have a book "Ahkam al-Jana'iz wa Bida'ha," I have "Adab al-Zafaf fi al-Sunnah al-Mutaharah," I have "Salat al-'Idayn fi al-Musalla hiya al-Sunnah," I have a verification of "al-Kalim al-Tayyib" from the words of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and I have "Sahih al-Jami' al-Saghir" and "Da'if al-Jami' al-Saghir," and I have what I do not mention now, and this is a long research.

The questioner : May Allah give you health, May Allah give you health.

The Shaykh : And you as well.

The questioner : Do you intend to visit the sacred places?

The Shaykh : I have a custom of performing 'Umrah in Ramadan and performing Hajj to the House of Allah every year.

The questioner : What Allah willed.

The Shaykh : And perhaps I have performed Hajj about thirty times, and the same number of 'Umrah.

The questioner : What Allah willed.

The Shaykh : Yes, but this year I and my wife felt that Ramadan would be hot for us, so we advanced the 'Umrah by about two months before Ramadan and performed it, praise be to Allah, and we hope that Allah will make Hajj easy for us also in this year, as we performed Hajj in the previous year.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : And you, if Allah wills.

The questioner : Okay, your authorship, as you said, do you not have something like a circle in which you study?

The Shaykh : We were in Damascus, we had a circle, but here the authorities did not like that, and so we are sitting in this hermitage of ours, only for authorship.

The questioner : Have you ever dealt with the Muslim World League?

The Shaykh : With what?

The questioner : The Muslim World League.

The Shaykh : No, except the Islamic University. I was a teacher there, then I was a member of the Supreme Council for three years.

The questioner : Yes, in any case, may Allah bless you. We did not want to burden you.

The Shaykh : Welcome.

The questioner : But we are in the introduction, if Allah wills, to be a beginning of good, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : Welcome.

The questioner : Yes, so, as you mentioned, [Aqeedah] published many things about you, but I can tell you as a Muslim reader without blame, or as a person... even though I did not have a complete idea about you, it is possible, we mean that we, if Allah wills, can benefit from this, as long as we intend good, then if Allah wills, it will be [except good], so it will be through a weekly newspaper issued in the League, so we hope, if Allah wills, to publish it in this newspaper, which goes to many countries... and return the image to you.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good.

The questioner : And we thank you for your kind reception, and until we meet again, and perhaps we can take this paper and benefit from it.

The Shaykh : There is no objection.

The questioner : We do not want pictures, nor do we desire pictures.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, we are not among the people of pictures.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : But I have a hope that if something is published in this regard.
