A word by the Shaykh regarding the vacation and what a Muslim should do with it.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for the topic of this gathering, two subjects are intertwined within it.
The first subject: the vacation and what a Muslim should do with it?
The second subject: marriage, because it is common for there to be many marriages during this vacation. However, our brother, Shaykh Hamud ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Sayyigh, chose to focus the discussion on the vacation. This is because the vacation does not mean what some people understand it to mean, which is a break from work. A break from work means suspending one's work, and a person can never suspend his work entirely. A person must work, as stated in the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
The most truthful of names are Harith and Hammad أصدق الأسماء حارث وهمام
A person is always moving and always desiring something. Sometimes he moves toward a straight path that saves him from the Fire and earns him this world and the Hereafter, and sometimes he moves toward the opposite. So, even though the regular classes have ended, the non-regular classes have not ended. And even though the work in these regular schools has ended, a person's work never ends. If we reflect on the conditions of people during this vacation, we find that they are on various paths.
