Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for a traveling woman, if she stays in a house, to shorten and combine her prayers, or is it obligatory for her to pray every prayer in its proper time?
The Shaykh : This question has been asked before, and we said: The traveler shortens the prayer as long as he is on his journey until he returns to his town. So, if a woman travels and stays in a town for two, three, four, ten, or more days, and she intends to return to her town, then in this case she shortens the prayer because she is a traveler. However, she does not combine prayers except out of need, because we mentioned that combining prayers while traveling is not a recommended practice (sunnah) except for one who is in a hurry or has a need for it. And if she is in the town and does not need to combine, it is better that she not combine.
