Is it better for the traveler to shorten and combine the prayers together, or to shorten without combining?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Now, in travel, is it better for the traveler to shorten and combine, or just to shorten?

The Shaykh : It is one of our rules that we do not accept more than one question. If the brothers permit it, or if you allow him, shall we answer his question?
For the traveler, the recommended practice (sunnah) is to shorten the prayers until he returns to his hometown, unless he prays behind an imam who completes the prayers. If he prays behind an imam who completes the prayers, it is obligatory for him to complete them.
As for combining, if he is traveling, combining is better. If he is staying, leaving off the combining is better. If he combines, there is no harm.

The questioner : We see many...

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly.

The questioner : In the combining, they pray four rak'ahs, four rak'ahs.

The Shaykh : No, that is a mistake. Combining four by four is for when the person is not a traveler, yes. On the right, or otherwise, no.

The questioner : Two questions, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Ask.

The questioner : I say: Some of our brothers have been afflicted with the inability to have children.

The Shaykh : And you are among those who prefer others over themselves. Give the one after you a chance.

The questioner : May the Shaykh be honored, what are the recommended practices (sunnan) on the day of marriage?

The Shaykh : And you are among those who prefer others over themselves.

The questioner : Shaykh, a question about a woman who has seizures due to jinn and their news.

The Shaykh : And you are among those who prefer others over themselves.

The questioner : Previously, when I was from the people of Qassim, now I am coming from Kuwait.

The Shaykh : Fine, may Allah reward you, if Allah wills.
