The questioner : May Allah reward the honorableThe Shaykh : I am a high school student. When we were tested in a certain subject, an answer came to me during the exam, but I did not ask for it. Is this considered cheating?

The Shaykh : The arrival of the answer is of two types:
The first type: a paper, where some of his classmates slip a paper to him. In this case, it is not permissible for him to look at it.
The second aspect: that he hears someone speaking the correct answer. So do we say: take it or ignore it?

The questioner : The first.

The Shaykh : Yes? The first? He takes it? Because it is a provision that Allah directed to him. As for the paper, he may not look at it and tear it up. But what he hears, he may take it. And this is from the provision that Allah directed to him.
It remains: Is it permissible for a student who knows the answer to raise his voice with it in order to help his brothers?

The questioner : No.

The Shaykh : Is not helping a man a form of charity? If you help a man with any permissible work, is it from charity?
The answer: Yes, it is from charity. But this is an impermissible act. It is not permissible for anyone to help his brother during an exam with a correct answer, absolutely not. Yes.
