The questioner : A questioner says: Some people want to perform Hajj on camels, even though the distance is one thousand three hundred kilometers and they have cars available to them. Is this considered excessive strictness in religion?
The Shaykh : By Allah, I see that they should not do it. I see that since Allah the Exalted has made the matter easy, they should make it easy for themselves. He the Exalted said:[Az-Zukhruf 43:12] So He began with ships, and cars are the ships of the land, airplanes are the ships of the air, and ships are the ships of the sea. So let them praise Allah for their well-being. I fear that one of two things will be in their hearts: either what is known as following the traditions and reviving the traditions, and the like of that, or there may be showing off in worship. Both of these are evil. Therefore, I advise our brothers not to make things difficult for themselves. They should make things easy for themselves where Allah has made them easy for them, and they should perform Hajj in the way people perform it. Yes.

and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount.
