The questioner : She asks if it is permissible to apply henna to the hair during fasting and prayer? She also says that she heard that henna breaks the fast?

The Shaykh : This is also not true. Applying henna during the days of fasting does not break the fast and does not affect the fasting person in any way, just as kohl, an ear drop, or an eye drop do not harm the fasting person or break his fast.
As for henna during prayer, I do not know how this question arises, since a woman who is praying cannot be applying henna. Perhaps she means whether henna prevents the validity of wudu' if a woman applies it. The answer is that it does not prevent the validity of wudu', because henna has no substance that prevents water from reaching the skin; it is only a color. What affects wudu' is what has a body that prevents water from reaching the skin, and that must be removed for the wudu' to be valid. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.

The questioner : This is a message from the listener Jamal Ali from the Arab Republic of Egypt. He says in his message.
