The questioner : He asks about a book titled "Bada' al-Zuhur", saying: Is what is in this book authentic, or does it contain some exaggeration?

The Shaykh : This book contains something, and it is "Bada' al-Zuhur fi Waqi'at al-Duhur".

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : This book contains many exaggerations and lies. A person should avoid it and keep it away from his home so that his children are not deceived by what they read in it. I advise this questioner and my other Muslim brothers to be careful about the historical books they review, and indeed to be careful about the historical and legal books they read, and not to accept everything they see. They should consult scholars about these books so that they are not deceived by the falsehood and weakness contained in them, because the matter is very serious. If every person were to find a historical or legal book and accept what is in it without distinguishing between the weak and the strong, and the truth and the falsehood, he would fall into great misguidance. And as long as scholars exist, praise be to Allah, it is easy to contact them and ask them about a book before reading it. Yes.

The questioner : Also, the listener asks and says: O honorable Shaykh.
