Among the worldly rulings is that his marriage to his Muslim wife is annulled if he abandons [the religion] after the marriage.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Thirdly: if he abandons prayer after he has married while he was praying, then the marriage is annulled, the woman becomes forbidden to him, and he is in the position of a stranger with regard to her, unless he returns to Islam and prays.
The jurists refer to this in the chapter on the marriage of disbelievers as the case where the husband and wife, or one of them, apostatize.
If one of the spouses apostatizes, their marriage is annulled.
Does it require a divorce or not?
It does not require a divorce; as soon as he abandons prayer, the wife is separated from him, unless he returns and prays and enters the Islam from which he had exited.
In that case, his wife returns to him.
The contract is not renewed, because it was contracted while he was praying, unlike the one who was contracted while he was not praying; in that case, the contract is invalid from the start, and if he begins to pray, the contract is renewed.
