What do you advise regarding my family, since they all visit graves and take soil from them, claiming that there is a blessing in it? What is obligatory for me in this situation?

The questioner : Also, as a continuation of his question, this paragraph says: The questioner, the listener Idris from Sudan, asks: What do you advise regarding my family, O honorable Shaykh? They all visit graves and take soil from them, claiming that there is a blessing in it. What is obligatory for me in this situation? Should I cut off ties with them? What else can I do about these actions of theirs? Should I advise them? We did not know that these things were forbidden until we heard the program Nur 'ala al-Darb. We ask you for guidance, may you be rewarded?

The Shaykh : The guidance is what we mentioned in the answer to the first question, which is that it is obligatory for you to advise them and to make it clear that there is no good in this and no blessing in it, because Allah the Exalted has not made a blessing in it for people to seek blessing from.
And it should be known that a person may be tested, or Allah Mighty and Majestic may test him, so he takes from this soil and gives it to a sick person to drink or applies it to them, and they are healed by the permission of Allah. This is a trial for the doer, and the healing occurs at the time of this action, not because of this action; that is, the action is not the cause, but the healing happened at that time by the permission of Allah the Exalted, as a trial and a test. For Allah the Exalted may test a person with something that causes him to commit a sin, so that He Mighty and Majestic may know who is sincere in his faith and who follows his desires.
And the important thing is that you must advise your family about what they are doing and make it clear to them that this is a matter with no reality, and that it is not mentioned in the Book of Allah or in the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) that the soil of the dead is used to seek blessing.

The questioner : Very well.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
