What is the permissible wearing of a ring?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the permissible wearing of a ring, O honorable Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Yes. As for the issue of wearing a ring, it is not a recommended practice (sunnah) that is required of every person to wear one. However, if there is a need for it, then among the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is to wear it. Indeed, when it was said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that the kings of his time did not accept a letter unless it was sealed, he (peace and blessings be upon him) made a ring.

The questioner : May Allah send prayers and peace upon him.

The Shaykh : In order to seal the letters he sent to them. So whoever needs it, such as a ruler, a judge, or the like, wearing it is following the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). And whoever does not need it, it is not a recommended practice (sunnah) for him to wear it.

The questioner : Very well.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. Also, the listener from Jeddah, in her last question, says.
