What is the difference between one who travels to the lands of disbelief or the land of punishment for leisure, and one who travels there for admonition and remembrance?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: This is an important issue, O our Shaykh!

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner: The truth is, regarding your comment on the matter of traveling for what is called leisure and reflection, I believe that the concept of reflection and admonition is absent in this time, and it has no existence at all. Therefore, those who travel do so for one reason only, which is: leisure and relaxation of the soul. This is very common now, and they travel in groups they call "groups," and these groups travel and are subject to a specific system and program, yes, they eat in groups, and from the food of hotels, and they sleep there, women and men, yes?

Another questioner: And swimming.

The questioner: Yes, indeed. Then, O our Shaykh, there is no doubt that this establishes the basis for the issue, and that travel is not valid except for such a purpose: that this money which is spent is not spent in a lawful manner, but rather is spent in a forbidden manner. And Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), when He forbids something, He forbids what follows from it. And Allah knows best.
