Resuming the discussion on a question concerning the blood money for killing in a rare case.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: Is it permissible to take from the zakah funds for such a case to pay the blood money?

The Shaykh: How do we know his circumstances if he is poor?

The questioner: I mean, is it required that he sell everything he owns, except for a house and a car he uses for distributing goods?

The Shaykh: No, nothing is required except what is necessary; he is not burdened with more.

The questioner: Here, the brother who was struck went to Shaykh Sa'd al-Husayn, as I heard, and told him that the situation was like this and that they needed help to settle the matter in Saudi Arabia. He asked him, "Did the family of the perpetrator sell everything they own?" He said, "No." He said, "Then we cannot help you."

The Shaykh: It was necessary to determine everything he owns, whether it is necessary or for comfort.
