We must let hope prevail in matters of obedience and fear prevail in matters of sin.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We should let the aspect of hope prevail in performing acts of obedience, because this is part of having a good opinion of Allah. If we exert our effort and do good deeds according to what we have been commanded, that obliges a person to have a good opinion of his Lord.
As for the aspect of sins, when the soul that commands evil urges you to sin, let the aspect of fear prevail so that fear restrains you from committing the sin.
In the night prayer, which is the tarawih prayer that has passed, we listened to verses with similar meanings:
The first verses: the verses regarding zihar.
The second verses: the verses regarding divorce.
The third verses: the verses regarding prohibition.
So, if Allah wills, we will speak about these verses briefly so that we do not run out of time while we are engaged in speaking about the prayer.
