The Shaykh : Yes, Ibn Hibban says: "He was among the nobles of his time in jurisprudence, scrupulousness, knowledge, virtue, and generosity." And Ibn Abi Maryam said: "I have not seen anyone among Allah's creation better than al-Layth, and there was no quality by which one draws near to Allah or by which one is drawn near to Allah but that quality was in al-Layth." "He was the imam of his time without opposition." Allah is the Greatest. Abu Dawud said: "No one descends to his level who wrote hadith in its proper form."
