Explanation of the Obligation for a Muslim to Remain in a Muslim Country

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The conversation has gone on for a long time and its threads have become disconnected. I have forgotten, what was the occasion?
The student : The topic is...

The Shaykh : Yes, the topic. Why did you bring up the bell?
The student : ... .

The Shaykh : How?
The student : ... .

The Shaykh : We mentioned this in some of our previous discussions.
The student : We were talking about Albania and Bosnia.

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly. Today, Muslims are weak in their religion. In their own lands, they are lax, as you pointed out in your speech. So what about a Muslim who goes to the lands of disbelievers? I told this brother, who has resided in Australia for twenty-five years, "My brother, if you return there, you cannot guarantee that your offspring, or at least the offspring of your offspring, will remain upon their Islam." I reminded him of the calamity of Andalusia and the calamity of Palestine today, where many Muslim youths and Muslim girls cannot distinguish between a Muslim and a non-Muslim, or between a Jew and a Jewish woman, because they openly display their customs and traditions. It is widely reported that many Muslim women in Palestine now walk in the alleys like Jewish women, with their ankles exposed. In fact, you find a Muslim woman wearing the old rural hijab, and next to her a girl who looks like a Jewish woman, yet she is the daughter of a Muslim, a Muslim woman. Therefore, I believe that the obligation for a Muslim to remain in a Muslim country is a matter in which no scholar who is zealous for the Muslims doubts it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding them:
None of you will have faith till he wishes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself. لا يؤمنُ أحَدُكم حتَّى يحبَّ لأخيهِ ما يحبُّ لنفسه
Sahih al-Bukhari 13
This is what the occasion led to.
