Discussion on the ruling of the judge who judges by other than what Allah has revealed

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student : In the name of Allah, and praise be to Allah. May Allah reward you with good. As the Shaykh said, the discussion is about tawhid (the oneness of Allah). Tawhid, as is well known, is the phrase "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah). It has two pillars and seven conditions: negation and affirmation, and the seven known conditions. Here we are speaking about the negation, the negation of "La ilaha" (There is no god).
So whoever disbelieves in Taghut
[Al-Baqarah 2:256]
We are speaking here about taghut and the negation of "La ilaha." This is the topic I am defining now. The issue is: what is taghut, what are the types of taghut, and what is the position of the one who affirms tawhid regarding this belief? I say: Tughut means anything by which a servant exceeds his limit, whether it is a worshipped object, a followed leader, or an obeyed authority. Or, as it is defined, taghut is that by which the limit is exceeded in terms of a worshipped object, a followed leader, or an obeyed authority. There are five types: Shaytan (Satan) (may Allah curse him), the judge who changes the law of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), the judge who does not judge by what Allah has revealed, the one who claims knowledge of the unseen, and the one who worships other than Allah and is satisfied with that. The stance and position of the Muslim regarding this negation
whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah
[Al-Baqarah 2:256]
is to disavow taghut and to disavow the act that made it taghut, so that he holds firmly to the firm handhold, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:
So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold
[Al-Baqarah 2:256]
. So the issue here, in our time and in our era, is that if we apply the types of taghut to reality, they fit. We take two types from this category: the judge who changes what Allah has revealed, and the judge who does not judge by what Allah has revealed. The judge who changes what Allah has revealed is the one who replaced the judgment of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) with a man-made, human law. And Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) commanded us to disbelieve in it, and He described it as taghut. Tughut is the god who is satisfied with being worshipped. So the Muslim in this time must disavow these constitutions, disavow their makers, and disavow those who ally with them. He must warn people against them and their actions, and he must not refer to these judgments that contain the new, modern codes. He must stay away from them, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:
Have you not seen those who claim to have believed in what was revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you?
[An-Nisa 4:60]
.
Another student: That they believe.
The student : Have you not seen those who claim?
Another student: That they believe.
The student
Have you not seen those who claim to have believed in what was revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you? They wish to refer legislation to Taghut, while they were commanded to reject it; and Satan wishes to lead them far astray.
[An-Nisa 4:60]
Here, disbelief in taghut, as we said, necessitates two things. The first thing is that he knows that the one who established these laws is taghut, and he is a god, because taghut is the god who is satisfied with being worshipped. He must disavow him and his actions, and they must not refer to him for judgment. And in order to disbelieve in the taghut that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) commanded them to disbelieve in
So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold
[Al-Baqarah 2:256]
. Also, among the conditions of "La ilaha illa Allah" is knowledge that contradicts ignorance, and submission. The meaning of submission is that a person submits to the judgment of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) and does not submit to anyone other than Him (Glorified and Exalted is He). And acceptance as well: that he accepts the judgment of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) and does not accept any judgment other than the judgment of Allah... So the topic we are discussing: we said the meaning of tawhid, and we take... we said "La ilaha illa Allah" has two pillars. We take the first pillar, which is the negation. So whoever disbelieves in taghut, this is the topic we are discussing: disbelief in taghut. What is taghut, what are the types of taghut, and what is the position of the Muslim regarding this taghut. And we link this taghut to the reality we live in, which is the judge who replaces what Allah has revealed, or the judge who judges by other than what Allah has revealed. I have finished.

The Shaykh : Of course, in the folds of your speech, there are absolute words. I may think that you do not intend absoluteness, and it may be the case that you do intend absoluteness. In that case, if you intend absoluteness, then there is a fundamental disagreement. And if you do not intend absoluteness, then the matter needs clarification, explanation, and restriction.
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : So, following the steps of Shaytan, which is prohibited and forbidden, when you referred to this Qur'anic text, do you mean that following any step of Shaytan's steps practically results in a breach of tawhid and the testimony of "La ilaha illa Allah," or do you not mean this?
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : You do not mean this. You do not mean this. Can I understand from your clear answer that you distinguish between what some scholars hold, and I am naturally in agreement with this school of distinguishing between creedal disbelief and practical disbelief? Do you say this?
The student : You need to explain to me, O our Shaykh.

The Shaykh: Yes.
The student : Explain to me...
