The Method of Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This statement is valid.
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Especially in these trials that we are living through today, unfortunately, which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) referred to:
You will find supporters for the truth, but they will not find supporters for the truth. إنَّكم تجدون على الحقِّ أنصارًا ، ولا يجدون على الحقِّ أنصارًا
.
The student: Allah is the Greatest!

The Shaykh : This is from one aspect, and from another aspect, enjoining good and forbidding evil should be done in a good manner, and no harm greater than the benefit should result from forbidding evil.
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Now, if it is likely that fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) will occur in the mosque, then the opinion is Abu al-Yaman's opinion.
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : And if it is likely that there will be no fitnah, but rather just talk and it will end, then at that time, one should forbid the evil and not resort to it—only, I do not say absolutely, not resorting absolutely to the Waqf (religious endowments). This combines both matters, and it remains up to your judgment, and you know that you are a regular at the mosque.
The student : Praise be to Allah, yes, my Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Like this.
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Okay, you previously spoke with some of them about establishing it, or is there no establishment?
