Discussion on the obligation of zakah on jewelry and that this is the correct view.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Based on this, the correct view among the scholars is that zakah is obligatory on jewelry made of gold or silver. There are specific hadiths indicating this regarding jewelry, including the hadith of 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with them both)
That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was approached by a woman, and in her daughter's hand were two thick bracelets of gold. He said to her: "Do you pay zakah on this?" She said: "No." He said: "Would you be pleased that Allah would brand you with two bracelets of fire?" So she took them off and threw them to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), saying: "They are for Allah and His Messenger."
Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) strengthened this hadith in *Bulugh al-Maram* by saying: "It was narrated by the three, and its chain is strong". He mentioned two corroborating narrations for it, one from the hadith of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and the other from the hadith of Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her).
