If the khatib mentions the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or makes a supplication, what should one do?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the same topic as the imam: if the imam mentions the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or makes a supplication, should a person secretly send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or not? Should he say "Ameen"?

The Shaykh : One should not move his lips with anything. Because if we say that one sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then a fortiori, if he mentions Allah, glorifies Him, and magnifies Him, saying "Glorious is His Majesty, Blessed and Exalted is He," then if we open the door from here and there, the matter becomes one without listening. Therefore, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) warned us, saying to the one who enjoins good: "Listen," in order to block the door to chaos. What about sending blessings upon the Messenger or glorifying Allah? These are dhikr that have other contexts.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. I noticed that the word "listen" is speech directed at another person, i.e., your companion, but the phrase "peace and blessings be upon him" is said in one's heart and not spoken to oneself?

The Shaykh : This is correct, but may Allah bless you, here comes... do you notice in the word "listen" whether you are saying this to move the tongue or to remember and reflect?

The questioner : To reflect.

The Shaykh : Here is the problem: when you divert your mind from the gathering of your khatib by your remembrance of your Lord and your sending blessings upon your Prophet, it has happened... we hinted at this to us.

The questioner : Here... the Messenger... his mind was diverted somewhat during the khutbah, so it means it is permissible if no chaos occurs!

The Shaykh : No problem, we like this kind of discussion, but I did not notice, Professor, that he opened this door, which would put the mosque in a state of constant dhikr, which is not the case now...

The questioner : He says it in his heart...

The Shaykh : In his heart, do you mean with words or without words?

The questioner : With words that he hears himself!

The Shaykh : This returns to the previous example... he wants to reflect, he wants to be diverted from what he is focused on, and it is not just once... it goes on and repeats. Allah the Exalted said, [he will mention] a hadith, [he will say] the Messenger of Allah said, and he will mention and mention until the end... it is opening the door. And therefore, we have not known from the Salaf... except that they sit listening.
