The ruling on sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he is mentioned

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: What is the ruling on sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in general, and on sending blessings upon him in the final tashahhud and in the Friday sermon?
Sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is a pillar of the prayer in the final tashahhud according to many scholars; the prayer is not valid without it. As for outside of prayer, it is obligatory to send blessings upon him when his name is mentioned, based on the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him),That Jibril said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): (May Allah put dust in the nose of a man who is mentioned in his presence and does not send blessings upon you,Say: Amen,So he said: Amen) It is obligatory for a person, when he hears the mention of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), to say: (peace and blessings be upon him).

As for the Friday sermon, some scholars mentioned that a condition for the validity of the sermon is that the khatib sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Other scholars said: that it is a recommended practice (sunnah) and not a condition for the validity of the sermon.
