The Shaykh’s mention of the source of the “Salafi Da’wah” in the Noble Qur’an, namely His saying—Blessed and Exalted is He

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: Praise is to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our own selves and from the badness of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whomsoever He leaves to misguide, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger,
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
[Ali 'Imran 3:102]
,
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
[An-Nisa 4:1]
,
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.
[Al-Ahzab 33:70-71]
. As for what follows:
Indeed, the best of speech is the speech of Allah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the worst of matters are their innovations, and every innovation is a religious innovation, and every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire. And after that:
Indeed, the best with which we can open this talk is the saying of Allah—Blessed and Exalted is He:
And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
[At-Tawbah 9:100]
. This noble verse is the foundation from which every Muslim should set out to understand the da’wah that some scholars, both past and present, have agreed to call the “Salafi Da’wah.” Some of them call it the “Da’wah of the Supporters of the Muhammadan Sunnah,” and others call it the “Da’wah of the People of Hadith.” All these names point to one meaning. This single meaning has long been overlooked by groups of Muslims, both past and present; they did not pay attention to it, or they did pay attention to it but did not give it its due care. This is because people have passed through long centuries, and the stagnation of madhhab-based taqlid (following a scholar without knowing his evidence) has settled upon the hearts of the people of the Sunnah who claim to belong to the people of the Sunnah and the community. This stagnation of taqlid and religion based on taqlid has settled upon all of them in the later centuries, after the three centuries attested to be the best. It has settled upon them, as well as upon those who do not belong to the “madhhab of the people of the Sunnah and the community” from the other sects...
