Is there a hadith, the meaning of which is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke about young people by saying, “They are foolish in their dreams and young in their teeth”? Is it authentic?

The questioner : I have a question, but I don't know what the hadith means. It is that
A time will come upon my Ummah in which there will be young people of recent age, so wherever you find them, kill them

The Shaykh : This is an authentic hadith, and the intended meaning is the Khawarij
Young people of recent age, weak in intellect, so kill them wherever you find them
. This is the one regarding whom the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came when he distributed a share among the Companions. A man stood up, who was the one who initiated the innovation of objecting to the rulers, who were later called the Khawarij. He said to him, “O Messenger of Allah, be just.” He said to him
O wretched one, who will be just if I am not just?
, then he turned to his Companions (peace and blessings be upon him) saying,
There will emerge from the rear of this group a people whose prayer you will consider insignificant compared to your own, and whose fasting you will consider insignificant compared to your own, and whose worship you will consider insignificant compared to your own. They will emerge from Islam as an arrow emerges from a quiver. Their sign is shaving the heads
, shaving the heads
So wherever you find them, kill them
. This hadith is the origin of the hadith about the Khawarij, and it has many wordings and narrations, and authentic ones among them are
That there will be a people who are young of recent age
, meaning young people
Weak in intellect
, meaning weak in intellect
Whose prayer you will consider insignificant
, and so on. This is an authentic hadith, but the intended meaning is the Khawarij who rebel against the Shari'ah texts, which leads them to rebel against the rulers and governors, stirring up fitnah and shedding the blood of Muslims. This applies completely in the present age to those called the Group of Emigration and Takfir, if you have heard of them, following Egypt.

The questioner : We ask Abu Muhammad a question
