Explaining that worship is not accepted except with two conditions: sincerity and following the Prophet.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This is because worship is not complete except with two conditions: sincerity to Allah and following the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion
[Al-Bayyinah 98:5]
, and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Actions are only by intentions
, and his saying:
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.
Sahih Muslim 1718b
.
Since this is a necessity, let our worship in this month conform to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and let our worship in this month be pure for Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
What are the two conditions? If you stop?
The student: First, that it be pure for His face (Glorified and Exalted is He).

The Shaykh : That the deed be pure for Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And the second?
The student: The second: that it follow what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) brought.

The Shaykh : Good. Meaning, conforming?
The student: Conforming to the Sunnah.

The Shaykh : May Allah bless you. Good, take a rest.
We mentioned one evidence from the Qur'an and two from the Sunnah regarding these two conditions. So what is the evidence from the Qur'an?
The student: The evidence is the saying of Allah (Mighty and Majestic):
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth
[Al-Bayyinah 98:5]
.

The Shaykh : Rest.
From the Sunnah, the first evidence? Yes.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh :
The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1
, Good.
The second evidence? Who? Yes.
The student:
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.
Sahih Muslim 1718b
, Good, take a rest.
So in the first,
Actions are only by intentions
is evidence for sincerity, and in the second, there is evidence for following
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.
Sahih Muslim 1718b
.
