Is it permissible for a sister to lead her brother in prayer?

The questioner : A young man came to me today asking me, saying, "I ask you, O Shaykh, is it permissible for a sister to lead them in prayer? She stands in front and leads him and his brothers. Is that permissible?"

The Shaykh : No, it is not permissible. A woman does not lead a man in prayer.

The questioner : If she leads him and he recites and makes a mistake, what do you do? Do you clap for him or correct him?

The Shaykh : You correct him.
