Fatwa number ( 1458 )
Q: I have a sister from my mother with a different father, and I have a sister from my father with a different mother. One man married them all, and I was the one who gave the marriage contract for them. Is this permissible?
A: As for marrying them all together, it is valid; because the original ruling is that it is permissible, and nothing has come to abrogate that. As for your taking charge of the marriage contract for them, regarding your sister from your father, it is permissible for you to take charge of the contract for her if there is no one more entitled than you to contract her marriage to the one who wants to marry her. As for your sister from your mother, it is not valid for you to take charge of the marriage contract for her except by a legal guardianship from one who has that authority as her guardian, if such a person is found, or from a legal judge if no legal guardian is found among her relatives.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
