Does the Eid sermon have the same ruling as the Friday sermon regarding listening and not speaking?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding the Eid sermon, as for the Friday sermon, it is not permissible for the one praying behind the imam to speak any word or utter anything during the sermon.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Does the Eid sermon have the same ruling, or does it have a different ruling?

The Shaykh : We cannot say it is the same ruling for one reason, which is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made the Eid sermon differ from the Friday sermon in two aspects. The Friday sermon, as you know, is before the prayer, while the Eid sermon is after the completion of the prayer. This implies a profound wisdom. The Friday sermon, being before the prayer, obligates those present to sit for it, listen to it, and pay attention to it; they are obligated to do so. However, when the Wise Lawgiver placed the Eid sermon after the prayer, it does not obligate them, because the Eid worship, which is the prayer, has ended. The Messenger (peace be upon him) confirmed this with another hadith, where he said:
So whoever wishes to sit, let him sit, and whoever wishes to leave, let him leave. فمن شاء أن يجلس فليجلس ومن شاء أن ينصرف فلينصرف
This is regarding the Eid sermon. Therefore, we cannot attach the rulings of the Eid sermon to the rulings of the Friday sermon, because the Lawgiver distinguished between the two sermons with these two distinctions: first, He placed one after the prayer and the other before the prayer; and second, He gave the attendees the choice to sit for it or to leave. Therefore, we say that we cannot state that listening to it is obligatory, as listening to the Friday sermon is obligatory.
The Shaykh: Be patient, be patient. But I say, do you see that the Eid sermon is more important, or is this lesson more important? There is no doubt that that sermon is more important because it is organized and prescribed by Allah (Mighty and Majestic), whereas this lesson that we have now made a reality is not. Do you see any benefit in one person speaking from here and another speaking from there? The answer is no. If that is the case, then by a fortiori argument, it is clear. But I cannot say that it is not permissible.
Yes
