The Shaykh Encourages Students of Knowledge to Gather and Draw Close in the Assemblies of Knowledge and Elsewhere

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We say, after praising Allah and sending prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and there is no better way to begin than to start with the sermon of need: Indeed, all praise is for Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our own souls and from the bad of our deeds. Whom Allah guides, none can mislead, and whom He misleads, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. As for what follows, we remind our brothers of a jurisprudential and hadith issue.
As for the jurisprudential aspect, food is of two kinds: material food and spiritual food. Since it is established in the Shari'ah, as came in the hadith
It was narrated that Abdullah bin Busr Al-Mazini said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Measure your food, may you be blessed therein."' اجتمعوا على طعامكم يبارك لكم فيه
Sunan Ibn Majah 2231Sahih (Darussalam)
This is the jurisprudential aspect.
As for the hadith aspect, I have previously mentioned to you in this blessed assembly, if Allah wills, and in other scholarly assemblies, what is established in the Prophetic Sunnah in multiple texts with different wordings but the same goal: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to order his Companions that if they sat in an assembly, even in the desert, they should gather, let alone in assemblies of knowledge and in the houses of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). I will summarize by quoting the hadith of Abu Thalhah al-Khushni (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
We used to travel with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and when we would stop at a place, we would scatter in the valleys and ravines. One day, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us, "Your scattering is from the work of Satan." Abu Thalhah said, "So after that, whenever we stopped at a place, we would gather in it, such that if we sat on a single mat, it would have been enough for us."
And they were in the desert, so what about you when you are in the city? What about you when you are in an assembly, whatever Allah wills in it? This is a reminder, and the reminder benefits the believers. Please proceed.
