Permissibility of combining prayers when there is hardship.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding the question of the woman who is tired from the work of the house, here she is advised to reduce the work so that she can perform the obligatory prayer.

The Shaykh : She is advised, if the work she is doing is not strictly domestic in the literal sense, this is a broad area; she may be doing impermissible work as well, and that is settled. That is, she is advised if there is room for advice.

The questioner : Should the Shaykh advise the woman to take a second husband to stop the work?

The Shaykh : Yes, well done.

The questioner : Shaykh, in this same question, that is ... .

The Shaykh : There is no harm, yes.
'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) combined the prayers of Zuhr and 'Asr, and Maghrib and 'Isha, in Madinah without travel or rain. They said, "What did he intend by that, O Abu 'Abbas?" He said, "He intended not to burden his Ummah."
So wherever the Muslim who prays and is diligent in performing the prayers at their times and in congregation in the mosque finds hardship in performing each prayer at its time, he may, to remove the hardship, combine the two prayers of Zuhr with 'Asr, and Maghrib with 'Isha'. As for Fajr, it is not combined with what comes before it or what comes after it. Then he has the choice between making his combination a combination of advancing or a combination of delaying. That depends on the reality of the one who wants to combine; some people may find that removing the hardship requires their combination to be a combination of advancing, and some may find that their combination should be a combination of advancing.

The questioner : Even if the hardship is constant.

The Shaykh : The question is not valid. If the hardship is not found, the combination is not found; otherwise, it is. Do you imagine the hardship existing constantly, always, continuously?

The questioner : No.

The Shaykh : Do you want to imagine, for example, that he is sick, that he has an illness such that it puts him in hardship if he maintains the times of the other prayers.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : And what is the difference? The important thing is hardship.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
