Question: We are a group of female students at Aden University, and we are diligent in performing the prayer at its appointed times, but during the studies, especially when the classes are after noon, we may miss the 'Asr and Maghrib prayers; because we are unable to perform them at the university no matter how much we try, and for many reasons,Therefore, we ask: Is it permissible for us to perform the 'Asr prayer with the Zuhr prayer as a combination in advance, and to perform the Maghrib prayer with the 'Isha' prayer as a combination in delay, so that we are saved from abandoning these two obligatory acts entirely, or saved from performing them as make-up as some of us do sometimes?

Answer: First: If it is possible for you to perform the prayer at its time and during the studies, then this is obligatory, and that is by reviewing with the university officials to allow you a time for prayer in which you pray, and then you return to work, and this is an easy matter
It does not burden you with anything and does not take much of the time, and it is a feasible matter, so if it is possible for you to get an opportunity to perform the prayer at its time during the studies, then this is obligatory and specific.
As for if this is not possible and you have tried to obtain it, and it was not realized, then here, if the studies are necessary, and in abandoning them there is harm upon you, I do not see a barrier to combining the two prayers in the manner mentioned in the question, by performing the 'Asr with the Zuhr as a combination in advance, and performing the Maghrib with the 'Isha' as a combination in delay; because this is considered among the excuses that permit combining; because the jurists mentioned that among the excuses that permit combining is that one is harmed by abandoning a livelihood he needs, so if abandoning the studies involves harm upon you and you did not get an opportunity from the officials to perform the prayer during work, then what I see is the permissibility of combining in this case.
As for performing the prayer as make-up as mentioned in the question, then this is not permissible, and Allah the Exalted knows best.
