The questioner : What is the meaning of
There was a Prophet who drew lines, so if anyone does it as he drew lines, that is right. قد كان نبيٌّ من الأنبياء يخطُّ ، فَمَن وافَقَ خطُّه خطَّه فذاك

The Shaykh : I alluded to its meaning earlier. The Messenger (peace be upon him) said in the previous hadith that a prophet among the prophets was granted by Allah (Mighty and Majestic) the blessing of drawing in the sand. He used this as a means to gain knowledge of some of the unseen. Gaining knowledge of the unseen is a privilege of the prophets and messengers. However, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) taught that specific prophet to draw lines in the sand, and through this, he was informed of some of the unseen. Meanwhile, the other prophets were informed immediately through Jibril (peace be upon him). In other words, drawing in the sand was a knowledge by which Allah distinguished some of His prophets, serving as a miracle for him. The Messenger (peace be upon him) said, by way of a conditional statement based on the impossible: "Whoever matches his drawing today with that prophet's drawing is the one who is correct, and whoever does not is not correct." Rather, he is engaging in deception, because there is no longer a way or path to this knowledge, as it was specific to that prophet. Scholars call this a "conditional statement based on the impossible." There is a point in answering in this style. Instead of simply saying that drawing in the sand is invalid, he provides the benefit that drawing in the sand was a knowledge possessed by a previous prophet... that your knowledge matches the knowledge of that prophet, and you are the successful one. What would be the answer? Is it possible for the drawing in the sand of a person to whom no revelation was sent to match the drawing of that prophet to whom revelation was sent? This is called a conditional statement based on the impossible. Therefore, the intent is to demonstrate impossibility. You can return the days in which you missed prayers and make them up, of course, he knows... that... there is no making up [in this context]. Similarly, here, if he is able to match his drawing with that prophet's drawing, he is correct and successful, and he knows that that prophet has passed away and departed with his miracle, just as all the prophets departed with their miracles. Therefore, the summary of the meaning of "whoever matches his drawing with that prophet's drawing, that is the one" is that this is a conditional statement based on the impossible, so it is not possible to match the drawing today... of the astrologers with that prophet's drawing. Therefore, drawing in the sand is not prescribed, because it is a conditional statement based on the impossible, just like making up for missed prayers by returning the days. Finally, I ask Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) to grant us understanding in our religion and to inspire us to follow the methodology of the righteous predecessors in understanding the Shari'ah, and to protect us and guard us from deviating to the right or to the left, as has happened to many of the sects claiming affiliation with Islam.
