The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: "So why, when it reaches the throat... to His saying... So why, if you were not accountable, do you not return it, if you are truthful?"

The Shaykh : Then Allah mentioned at the end of the surah the state of one who is on the verge of death and death has come to him, so He said, Mighty and Majestic: "reached" means the soul and the spirit, for it exits the body from the feet and ascends in the body little by little until it reaches the throat. The throat, which is the passage of the breath, this is it. You see the dead person struggling with death, he is on the verge of death, and the earth has become narrow for him despite its vastness, and his soul has become narrow for him. You cannot repel anything from him. If all the doctors of the world gathered to repel what has befallen him, they would find no way to do so. The angels entrusted with taking the soul of this dying person are closer to the dying person than his family, but you do not see them, because they are angels of the unseen realm who do not appear to the visible and evident except when Allah, Mighty and Majestic, wills to manifest them as one of His signs, so this is possible.
Allah the Exalted said: meaning "why not" and this is a warning mixed with a challenge, meaning if you were not accountable for your deeds, return it, return the soul that has reached the throat so that it returns to the body. Is this possible? The answer: It is absolutely impossible.
Then Allah the Exalted mentioned that the state of these dying people is divided into three states: those brought near, the companions of the right, and the companions of the left.
As for those brought near, and I ask Allah to make me and you among them.
