Discussion of the addition found in Sahih Muslim: (and his father, if he is truthful), and that it is anomalous.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : I would like to remind you that the addition "and his father" is an anomalous addition. Even though it appears in Sahih Muslim and in other authentic collections, it is not valid. The denial of its validity does not stem from internal transmission, as some contemporary scholars say today, nor from the critique of the text in hadith terminology, but rather from the critique of the chain of narration. This addition, "and his father," is anomalous and not authentic. The authentic version is:
That man will be successful, if he is telling the truth. أفلح الرجل إن صدق
Muwatta Malik 9:103
He will enter Paradise if he is sincere. دخل الجنة إن صدق
Sunan an-Nasa'i 2090Sahih (Darussalam)
The point of this hadith is that this man was content with performing what Allah has made an individual obligation upon him. Therefore, he does not engage in jihad as a collective obligation, nor does he perform the recommended practices, the regular voluntary prayers, the voluntary prayers, or other acts of devotion. He is a man content with this, and most people are like this. When Allah the Exalted knew from these Ansar, who were the cause of the religion being mocked in their land, their inclination to their planting, their milking, and their farming, He the Exalted revealed this verse to remind them that abandoning jihad in the path of Allah in general is throwing oneself into destruction. However, as I said earlier, this throwing oneself into destruction can be in a completely opposite way, as we say now. Why do we not go and fight the Jews, who have occupied our land and are next to us, because we are fighting from every direction? So this jihad is before us, but we are unable to do it. What compels us to go to those distant lands when our countries do not support us in this jihad? So we are living in dreams and illusions, and it is not so, as it was said:
"Sa'd led them in, and Sa'd was wrapped up *** This is not how, O Sa'd, you lead in the camels".

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner :"This is not how, O Sa'd, you lead in the camels".

The Shaykh : Is there a transposition or reordering? May Allah reward you with good.
I wonder if the mosque is close here or not? ... .
Another questioner: Right next to the house.

The questioner : Right next to the house.

The Shaykh : Please, then.
