The marriage contract writer, known as the "ma'adhun"; is there any harm in making this a profession?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : My Shaykh, one of the brothers asked me about the work of the ma'adhun?

The Shaykh : What work?

The questioner : The writer who writes marriage contracts?

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : By Allah, I do not know, but we ask—our Shaykh—so that if there is anything regarding it that clarifies the matter for us; is there any observation regarding his work, my Shaykh?

The Shaykh : I do not think, my brother, that there is anything wrong with his work. He is like the imam, the mu'adhdhin, the khatib, the teacher, and the like. If he performs the work, meaning he does not show favoritism, does not engage in corruption, and does not contravene the Shari'ah, then he is like those I mentioned earlier.
