What is the authenticity of the hadith in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: “Does the believer lie?” and he said: “No”?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh :
The believer does not المؤمن لا
؟

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, this hadith is not authentic, my brother. The believer, he was told: the believer does such and such, and does such and such, but he does not commit zina. This one does not... does such and such? He commits zina.

Eid Abbasi : Does he drink intoxicants? Yes.

The Shaykh : Each one individually. As for “Does he commit zina?” he said: “No.” “Does he lie?” he said:
No. لا
. This hadith has a weak chain of narration. Even if it were authentic in terms of meaning, it would be interpreted—also—the believer means the complete one. So we do not need to repeat any of the previous research. We have an authentic hadith; he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who is not trustworthy has no faith, and he who does not keep his covenant has no religion. لا إيمان لِمَن لا أمانة له ، ولا دين لِمَن لا عهد له
Mishkat al-Masabih 35Hasan (Zubair `Aliza'i)
. How do we say now?
he who does not keep his covenant has no religion لا دين لِمَن لا عهد له
Mishkat al-Masabih 35Hasan (Zubair `Aliza'i)
Do we declare him a disbeliever? No. What would be the meaning of the hadith? Not a complete religion. And the one who does not have trustworthiness, he said:
He who is not trustworthy has no faith لا إيمان لِمَن لا أمانة له
Mishkat al-Masabih 35Hasan (Zubair `Aliza'i)
; meaning: not a complete faith; because faith has degrees,
Seventy-odd branches بضع وسبعون شعبة
he (peace and blessings be upon him) said; therefore, based on these guidelines and rules, the texts that are difficult for some people must be interpreted.
And this is sufficient, and praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
