If a student graduates from the university by cheating, what is the ruling on the salary he receives in his job, and what should be done in that regard?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A questioner says: “May the Shaykh be respected, I graduated from the university, but I cheated and submitted my documents to the relevant authorities to obtain a job. My question is: what is the ruling on the salary given the situation I described, and what should be done in that regard?”

The Shaykh : If success was achieved through cheating in the final certificate upon which the salary is based, then in my view he does not deserve the salary, because what is built upon the invalid is invalid. Accordingly, he must retake the examination. However, if the job is specific to the subjects in which he actually succeeded, I hope there is no harm for him, but he must repent. For example, if he was employed as an accountant and he had succeeded in the accounting subject but cheated in other subjects, I hope his job is lawful because he is proficient in the work specific to it. But he must repent to Allah for the cheating he committed. Yes.
