The questioner : He says:The questioner : Many women pray the tarawih prayer with the men in the mosque. Is this better for them, or is it better in the house? Especially since many of them say that it helps and encourages them, particularly if they are unable to read from the mushaf.
The Shaykh : Praying in the house is better, but if her prayer in the mosque is more energetic for her and more humble, and she fears that her prayer will be lost if she prays in the house, then the mosque may be better in this case. This is because this virtue relates to the worship itself, while the house relates to the place of worship, and the virtue that is in the worship is more deserving of consideration than the virtue that is in its place. However, it is obligatory for a woman, if she goes out, to go out covered, not displaying her adornment, and not wearing perfume. Therefore, the women who bring incense to the section where the women pray are closer to sin than they are to reward, because the women perfume themselves with this incense, so the woman goes out while wearing perfume. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 444. Yes, if it is assumed that a woman brings the incense, and when she reaches the mosque she places the incense, and neither she nor anyone in the place takes it, but it only perfumes the place, then there is nothing wrong with that, except that leaving it is better so that those who do not do this act do not follow her example.
