The Tarawih Prayer at Home

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 7617 )
Q4: When the month of Ramadan arrives and the time for the Tarawih prayer comes, should I go to the mosque or pray at home? I am not an imam, but a follower, and I like to recite the Qur'an. I prefer reciting to listening. If I pray at home, is there any sin on me? We are referring only to the Tarawih prayer.
A4: There is no blame on you for praying it at home, since it is a voluntary prayer. However, praying it with the imam in the mosque is better, following the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to his Companions when he led them in Tarawih for some nights until a third of the night had passed, and some of them said to him: "If only you would grant us the rest of our night":
Whoever prays Qiyam with the Imam until he finishes, Allah (SWT) will record for him the Qiyam of a (whole) night.من قام مع الإمام حتى ينصرف كتب الله له قيام ليلته
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1605Sahih (Darussalam)
It was narrated by Ahmad and the compilers of the Sunan with a good chain from the hadith of Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
