What is meant by the imam's departure in the hadith (Whoever stands with his imam until he departs...)?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The last question, as requested by the Shaykh, says His EminenceThe Shaykh : What is meant by the departure you referred to as the imam's departure? Is it waiting until the imam leaves the mosque, or until he finishes the prayer?

The Shaykh : The meaning of departure, in the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
whoever stands (praying) with the Imam until he finished من قام مع الإمام حتى ينصرف
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 806Sahih (Darussalam)
is the completion of the prayer. When the imam says the closing salam, it is a recommended practice (sunnah) for him to turn toward the ma'mum (those praying behind him) and face them; at that point, he has departed, and it is recorded for him as standing in night prayer. This is a good question because it contains a rhetorical skill in conclusion among rhetoricians, a skill they call the skill of opening, and another skill, the skill of closing. So it is as if this questioner is saying, "Depart, O listeners, and may Allah reward you, and peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings."

The questioner : May Allah reward our Shaykh for these words. However, I announce that the Da'wah and Guidance Office in al-Madnab is pleased to invite you to attend a seminar titled "Welcome to the Honored Guest", in which Dr. Nasser al-'Umar and Shaykh Fahd al-Qadi will participate. This will take place on the night of Thursday to Friday, 28/08, if Allah wills, after the Maghrib prayer at al-Jamal Mosque in al-Madnab. May Allah reward you with good. Also, these are requests for the Shaykh, especially from his brothers in the city of al-Qaryat, who ask His Eminence the Shaykh to visit them in their land due to the pressing need for it, or to send someone he deems suitable to deliver a lecture in these days.

The Shaykh : ... As for the first, which is attendance, I do not know. As for the second, I will try to do so, if Allah wills, and success is from Allah.
