The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the righteous, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. As for what follows: It is a pleasure for us on this night, the night of Sunday, the twenty-third, the seventeenth of the month of Rabi' al-Akhir, in the year 1414, to meet with you for this month's gathering. We apologize for missing the gathering last month, as it was not possible for us to attend because we were traveling. In this night's gathering, I had intended to continue with the exegesis of the chapter , but I saw that the topic of the gathering should be the greeting of peace and its etiquettes, shaking hands, and kissing the head or the forehead or something similar, because that is important. So we say: Peace is one of the names of Allah, as Allah the Exalted said at the end of the chapter al-Hashr, and as you heard it in the recitation of the 'Isha' prayer tonight: The meaning of Peace, which is one of the names of Allah, is: the One who is free from every defect and flaw. He is the Living who does not die, and He is the Living, the Self-Subsisting, whom no drowsiness overtakes and no sleep, and He is All-Knowing of what has passed and what is to come. My Lord does not err and does not forget. He is the Strong, the Mighty, the Capable. [Fatir 35:44], [Qaf 50:38], [Al-Ahqaf 46:33] The verses and hadiths in this meaning are numerous, that Allah is free from every defect. And it is a defect to be like the created, because the created is deficient. So if we made Allah like the created, that would be a deficiency and a flaw. Allah the Exalted said: [Ash-Shuraa 42:11], and He the Exalted said: [Al-Ikhlas 112:4], and He the Exalted said: [Maryam 19:65] The meaning of "simila" is: a peer and a likeness. So Peace is one of the names of Allah, and its meaning is what? The One who is free from every flaw and deficiency.
