A word by the Shaykh regarding the Night of Decree.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
As for what follows:
O believing brothers, we are in this night, the night of Friday, corresponding to the twenty-seventh of the month of Ramadan in the year 1408.
In this night, we hope that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, will make it the Night of Decree and that we will be successful in it.
It is recommended that we supplicate to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, by saying:
Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni (O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me) اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عنا
Sunan Ibn Majah 3850Sahih (Darussalam)
.
For Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, has the name al-'Afu (the Pardoner), and it is among His attributes that He loves to pardon, for His mercy precedes His wrath.
It is recommended for a person to expose himself to the mercy of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, in this night and in the other nights of the ten, and indeed in the other nights of the year, especially in the last third of the night, for Allah descends in it to the lowest heaven and says:
Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him? من يدعوني فأستجيب له، من يسألني فأعطيه، من يستغفرني فأغفر له
Sahih al-Bukhari 1145
.
