Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “Have you not seen if We had granted them years of enjoyment, then what they were promised came to them? What did their enjoyment avail them?”
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for the issue of luxury and worldly comfort, listen to the saying of Allah the Exalted in the very verses we recited tonight: [Ash-Shu'ara 26:205-206], what will be the outcome? [Ash-Shu'ara 26:207], and He the Exalted said regarding the family of Pharaoh: [Ad-Dukhan 44:25-27], when they disobeyed Allah, they left all of this behind and perished, leaving it behind their backs. So fear Allah, O Muslims, do not be overcome by our language, for our language is one of the foundations of our religion; it is the language of the Book of Allah, the language of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, the language of the imams of the Muslims, and the language of the scholars of the Muslims. Let us at least have a sense of Arab pride and not take anything in place of our language. I now disavow before Allah those people who send their children to such kindergartens to learn English from a young age, so that they forget their Arabic language. I see that they bear responsibility before Allah the Mighty and Majestic, and that this has a great future danger. I ask you to convey this advice to everyone you see who has sent their sons or daughters to these kindergartens with such curricula. I say: be patient, keep your children with you in your homes so that they become accustomed to you and you to them, and they love you and you love them. Then, when they reach the age that allows them to enter government schools, enroll them. You yourselves did not attend kindergartens, and praise be to Allah, you have reached a high level of culture, so your sons are like you. This is what I say, and I seek forgiveness from Allah for myself, for you, and for all Muslims from every sin. Now it is the time for questions; we ask Allah to grant us success in them.
