Once a person killed a dog, is there an expiation for him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Once I killed a dog, is there an expiation for me?

The Shaykh : Dogs are of two types: a type whose killing is recommended, and a type that is not to be killed. As for the type whose killing is recommended, it is the black dog, because it is a devil, and the vicious dog, because it is harmful. As for the rest of the dogs, they are not to be killed. However, if a person kills one, he must repent to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and there is no expiation required of him for that.
