A man who has a guard dog threw it from the top of a mountain into a valley and killed it; is there anything required of him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah preserve you. But the question from our brother Mustafa the guard! He says: The dog that was in the farm apparently caused some harm by eating some of the livestock and poultry, so it occurred to him to kill it, so he threw it from the top of the mountain into the valley and it died. Now he asks: Is there anything required of him?

The Shaykh : There is something required of him regarding the manner in which he killed it.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : As for killing it in itself, without regard to the manner, if it is established that it is harmful, it is killed by the easiest means. But I had heard that it was killed because of what they spray, the poisoned substances.

The questioner : Another dog, O Shaykh.

Another questioner : This is the first one.

The Shaykh : Another dog?!

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : As for this last one, he is now asking if there is anything required of him, an expiation?

The Shaykh : His expiation is between him and his Lord, in that he repents to Allah and does not return to such a thing ever again.
