If an army is found to abide by the limits of the Shari'ah, is it permissible to join it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Another questioner : If the orders from this army abide by those limits of the Shari'ah, is it permissible?

The Shaykh: The answer to this has already been given.

The questioner : With the disbelievers, you mean?

The Shaykh : Fighting with the Muslims, not with the disbelievers. The disbelievers, their affair is as Allah the Exalted said:
Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful قاتلوا الّذين لا يؤمنون بالله و لا باليوم الآخر و لا يحرّمون ما حرّم الله و رسوله
[At-Tawbah 9:29]
We are telling the brother to fight to remove the rebel from his rebellion, not for you to meet the rebellion with its like. Do you understand up to this point?

The questioner : Up to this point, you understand perfectly.

The Shaykh : Do the Americans know these limits now?

The questioner : They may know them.

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : Suppose they wanted to return Kuwait to its people...

The Shaykh : Do not look into hypotheticals. Tell me what you know about the disbelievers. I have just recited to you the verse
and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful و لا يحرّمون ما حرّم الله و رسوله
[At-Tawbah 9:29]
What do you know about the Americans? Do they prohibit and permit?

The questioner : No covenant and no conscience.

The Shaykh : So why do you say "suppose"?

The questioner : I am saying, based on what they broadcast on their radio stations, that the Muslim forces are not sufficient to fight Iraq or to fight the rebel. Is it permissible to ask for the assistance of the people of disbelief to fight the rebel?

The Shaykh : It is not permissible to seek assistance. We have finished the lecture.

The questioner : I did not attend it.

The Shaykh : But I was told that I heard it.

Another questioner : Does this apply to all Muslims, or is it limited to the brother soldier?

The Shaykh : How do you mean?

The questioner : If all Muslims were asked to fight Iraq so that they would be removed...

The Shaykh : This has also been answered in detail previously. We said if the Muslims were not fighting under the banner of the disbelievers who do not prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, it would be obligatory for all of them to be of assistance to the Kuwaitis against Iraq. But the problem is that these disbelievers do not prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited. And especially here, the brother said a word that I was surprised to hear from him. According to what they announce, do they not announce that they want to destroy the power of Iraq?

The questioner : Some of them announce that, and some of them announce that they want to return the right to its owners.

The Shaykh : Do they have something called "right"?

The questioner : Britain says...

The Shaykh : I am asking you, do they have something called "right"?

The questioner : All of it is false.

The Shaykh : So why do you argue with this statement, may Allah reward you?
