The Shaykh spoke about Iraq.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : I do not know what to say. The fact that Iraq remained alone to fight means that this outcome is very natural, especially since it is fighting twenty or thirty states, meaning all the states of the world against it, and half of the Arab world is against it, while the other half is, may Allah keep us safe and protect us from harm. Therefore, may He increase its good and patience in all these days of patience. But the truth is, we hope that there will be a lesson in this for those who take heed, and that the outcome of this withdrawal will be, as I said, "We will test you." Perhaps the Iraqi army, with the Ba'ath Party at its head, and Saddam Hussein at its head, will repent to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) with sincere repentance from their disbelief, or at least from their old misguidance. Then, if their repentance is valid, they will deserve the victory of their Lord over their enemy, no matter how many they are or how much equipment they have. For Islamic history, as you all know, tells us that the Muslim army, the Muslim army whose leader and those under his leadership rule with Allah, if they disobey a command from the commands of Allah, that becomes a cause for them to be defeated before the enemies of Allah. So it is no surprise, in this state, for an army to retreat, to say the least; it is not known for it to have been obedient to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in its peace and in its war. So it is not strange at all that they should retreat, and I do not say now that they will be defeated before the enemies of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), given the smallness of the first [army], the Muslim one, and its apparent distance from the rulings of the Shari'ah, and the multitude of the enemy fighting them, who have no compassion or mercy for the Muslims in Allah (Mighty and Majestic), but are rather enemies of Islam and all Muslims. Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we return.
