What is shirk and what are its types?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is shirk? And what are its types?

The Shaykh : Shirk is when a person makes a partner with Allah the Exalted in His lordship, or His divinity, or His names and attributes. In terms of lordship, it is making a creator alongside Allah Mighty and Majestic for this universe, or making a helper to Allah the Exalted in creating this universe.
In terms of divinity, it is taking a god alongside Allah to worship, whether a wali (close friend of Allah), a prophet, an emir, a minister, a stone, a tree, the sun, or the moon.
As for the names and attributes, it is believing that the names and attributes of Allah are similar to the attributes of the created beings, and making the attributes of the created like the attributes of the Creator.
As for its types, there is the minor and the major, the more hidden and the more apparent. It has many types. It is best for a person to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating partners with You while I know, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know". For shirk is more hidden than the movement of ants on black stones in the darkness of the night. So let a person beware of it, and let him ask Allah for deliverance, and let him turn to Allah the Exalted constantly, seeking His help. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good and bless you. This is a questioner for the program from Sudan who says.
