The Shaykh : I said in my answer to the first question that the dead do not benefit from this. Furthermore, those who recite for the reward they are given are deprived of the reward, because whoever seeks the worldly life through the deeds of the Hereafter has no share in the Hereafter and no portion of the reward. So if one hires a reciter to recite the Qur'an, whether at graves or in the case of a calamity, that reciter has no reward, and consequently, the one who hired him has no reward. Moreover, hiring him is also a wrong against him, because it accustoms him to worship that he intends for the worldly life. And Allah the Exalted said:[Hud 11:15-16].
