If I find a non-Muslim woman with me by virtue of my work, is it obligatory for me to invite her to Islam, and if I do not, will I be questioned about her on the Day of Resurrection, or is the call for specific people who are capable of it?

The questioner : If I find a non-Muslim woman with me by virtue of my work, is it obligatory for me to invite her to Islam, and if I do not, will I be questioned about her on the Day of Resurrection, or is the call for specific people who are capable of it? May Allah reward you with good?

The Shaykh : It is obligatory for one who has a non-Muslim partner in his work to invite him to Islam, but with gentleness, reassurance, and presenting the true Islam in which everyone who is presented with it would desire. The measure of Islam is not the actions of Muslims, for among Muslims there are those who do deeds that have no connection to Islam, such as lying, betrayal, and delay. They think that these are the morals that the Islamic religion brought, whereas the Islamic religion came with truthfulness, fulfilling trusts, and keeping promises. Allah the Exalted said:
O you who have believed, fulfill [all] contracts. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَوْفُوا بِالْعُقُودِ
[Al-Ma'idah 5:1]
And He the Exalted said:
And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned. وَأَوْفُوا بِالْعَهْدِ إِنَّ الْعَهْدَ كَانَ مَسْؤولًا
[Al-Isra 17:34]
Rather, Allah the Exalted said:
Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
[Al-Mumtahanah 60:8]
So Allah the Exalted made it clear that He does not forbid us from dealing with those who did not fight us in religion and did not expel us from our homes; He does not forbid us from dealing with them with excellence or with justice at the least:
from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them أَنْ تَبَرُّوهُمْ وَتُقْسِطُوا إِلَيْهِمْ
[Al-Mumtahanah 60:8]
As for the one who wrongs his workers, whether Muslims or non-Muslims, he has in reality wronged them personally and wronged Islam conceptually, because these people think that this is the character of Islam, and this is not of Islam in any way.
And the summary of my answer to this woman is that I would say to her: Call to the way of Allah, call to the religion of Allah. Present to these non-Muslims who share in the work the virtues of Islam, the objectives of Islam, and the morals of Islam. And in my opinion, any rational person who understands what is presented to him will not choose a religion other than Islam.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
